Sharp as a tac

Created by Alison one year ago

Jon and I went to Cohasset High School together. He was always sharp as a tack and dressed as if he were ready to join the corporate world. If I remember correctly, his dad opened a trading account for him and he was trading stocks at a very young age. When most were focused on teen issues and dramas, Jon was trading stocks.  Again, sharp as a tack.

Jon and I didn’t spend much time together in high school.  But, one summer of our freshman year of college, we would meet for lunch in Post Office square in Boston when we both discovered we were working in the same area. I so enjoyed these weekly lunches. I remember the weather being perfect, the grass being lush and bright green, the beautiful water feature of the park, and getting to know Jon better - his wit, his sarcasm, and his humor. My college summers were a bit lonely, especially that year, as I had ended my high school friendships that were full of drama, drama that Jon to me seemed to avoid. I so enjoyed his company more than he ever knew.

I am deeply saddened he is no longer with us and am happy to see that he lived such a wonderful life.  Just seems unfair it was too short. I wanted to share my story of his kindness and hope it brightens your day even the slightest during this sad time as he once brightened my day during a time of saddness.

With Deepest Sympathy,

Alison Doherty Estabrooks
